Celebrate National Stress Awareness Month

In some parts of the globe, April is recognized as Stress Awareness Month. In our increasingly busy lives, it’s helpful to understand how to manage stress before it gets out of control. Simple breathing exercises can be very effective in reducing stress. Here’s one to try next time you’re feeling overwhelmed:

Close your mouth and inhale quietly through your nose to a mental count of four. Hold your breath for a count of seven. Exhale completely through your mouth, making a whoosh sound to a count of eight. Repeat up to eight times.
